Our Facilites - and Things to do
Welcome to Marlinspike Guest Lodge. Paul and Fiona run an owner operated business and we live on the property - although during your stay you may have full use of all of our facilities.
We have a dining area for the guests inside and on those hot summer mornings, you can enjoy your breakfast out on the verandah overlooking the harbour and the bay. We offer a full breakfast with a choice of cereals, warm bread, yoghurt and our famous 6 fruit salad. For a hot breakfast, you have a choice of eggs (fried, scrambled, poached or omelet) with either bacon or sausage and all the extras. We will also cater for special needs as well as special occasions such as champagne breakfasts.
After a hearty breakfast - if you are the sporty type -we can make arrangements for you to have a game of squash, tennis or to visit one of our two local gyms. Alternatively you may want to go a little further afield and try out one of the many golf courses on the Cape Penisular. Hout Bay offers a variety of water sports from jet skis to fishing charters and kayaks. We can make arrangements to book for you prior to your arrival to avoid disappointment..
As we have direct access to the nature reserve, you may choose to start your walk from our front garden and climb the sentinel mountain (more of a hill really!) or join one of the longer hikes available along the peninsula.

Our garden has a variety of fynbos (indigenous to the Cape) which has been specially chosen to attract a variety of bird life.
Possibly you would prefer to enjoy the hot summer days by the pool. Each of our rooms has deck chairs and of course there are additional loungers available to our guests.
Going to visit Cape Town - there is plenty to do there. If you would prefer not to drive yourself, we would be happy to arrange private tours of Cape Town, the Cape Peninsula, one of the many wine routes or of a township.
The Cape Weather can be variable although the cold months tend to be from May to October, you may still get rain throughout the year. Fortunately we have a large fireplace and a dining area where we offer (on advance request) excellent meat and seafood platters for that special night when you prefer to "eat in".

Of course Hout Bay has a variety of excellent restaurants to choose from, but before you go, why not join us for a pint of the local Forresters Bitter on tap or some wine from our selection.

CHEERS!!!
